Meet Kate Hartman
Owner & Lead Designer
Kate Hartman’s work is grounded in the belief that a home should be both intentional and inviting—a place where order creates ease and beauty fosters connection. Raised in a large family in Alabama, she developed an early appreciation for how thoughtfully designed spaces can support both daily life and meaningful gathering.
Kate began her career in engineering, where she gained a deep appreciation for structure and process—but missed a creative outlet. That changed in 2010, when she and her husband, Josh, moved from the Florida Panhandle to Birmingham, Alabama. While building their first home and launching a home furnishings boutique with her mother-in-law, her passion for design took root. Over the next decade, she led a series of ventures—including Chickadee, Chickadee Interiors, and Hartman Neely Interiors—before relocating to Boulder, Colorado in 2021 with Josh and their son, Gus, to begin a new chapter both personally and professionally,
Kate Hartman Interiors is founded on the belief that beauty and comfort are not opposing forces, but essential counterparts. Every space should offer both inspiration and ease—crafted not just to be admired, but to be inhabited. Kate approaches each project with this philosophy in mind, designing interiors that are as refined as they are inviting.
Now based in the Vail Valley, Kate brings her signature clarity and warmth to mountain living, blending architectural elegance with a relaxed sensibility. Her personal style favors clean lines, nuanced textures, and a sense of quiet restraint. But above all, her work is defined by its adaptability. She collaborates closely with each client to understand how they live, what they love, and what will make their home feel wholly their own.
Her aesthetic is rooted in bespoke design, expertly executed—an approach that values craft, integrity, and the subtle details that elevate a space. From concept to completion, she is known for thoughtful communication, precise budgeting, and seamless project management, ensuring that the process is as considered as the final result.
Meet Molly Gause
Design Associate
Molly holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama and has worked alongside Kate Hartman since 2018, playing a key role in the execution of every facet of the design process. With a refined eye and an intuitive grasp of both form and function, she brings thoughtful support and creative insight to each project.
Her impeccable sense of style is evident not only in her design sensibilities, but in the personal polish she brings to every detail. Equal parts grounded and lighthearted, Molly’s warmth, wit, and collaborative nature make her an essential and beloved part of the Kate Hartman Interiors team.
